Star-boy Jessy Ssekandi shined brighter to inspire Della Torre Football Academy to quarter-final stage at the ongoing Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) Chenga National championship in Mbarara.

Too small with a big heart, Jessy Ssekandi produced a man of the match show to grab a brace as the Luweero based side Della Torre won Shalom Eagles Soccer Academy 3-0 to seal quarter-final slot.

Hitman Joshua Musinguzi scored the third for Della Torre Football Academy.

The greatest entertainment of the day was between tik-tak styled El Cambio of Masaka against Destiny Soccer Academy – Lira.

The hugely attended mouthwatering thriller ended in a 1-0 score in favor of El Cambio.

Played on a very soggy surface of Mbarara High School and a wet evening, El Cambio through Mike Efeku who scored a beauty via a well taken free kick won the highly contested tie.

In the other knockout encounters, Derrick Piriyo was on target for Misingi as they won a physical opposition of Garuga.

Sparta 09 also went through to the last eight after a 1-0 win against Entebbe Red Stars.

Hamza Kagwa scored for the defending champions as they announced themselves into the quarter-finals.

Eastern Uganda based Summer Kids beat Kigezi 2-0. Ibrah Mukose scored twice for Summer Kids whilst Rajab Kawooya netted Kigezi’s consolation.

Alfa Soccer Academy won by 2-1 against Sokolo. Henry Muhoozi and Joshua Tumwebaze scored for Alfa as Joram Kinene netted for Sokolo.
