The 2023 Inter-forces games have today Friday, the 17th November 2023 been launched at police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala.

The games will be held in three venues of Kigo Range Grounds, Kabalye Police training facility and Masindi Stadium.

Under the theme “fostering wellness and interagency cooperation through sports for a safe and secure Uganda”, the Deputy IGP Major General Kasigazi Tumusiime launched the games.

While addressing the gathering at the launch, Deputy IGP Major General Kasigazi Tumusiime who doubled as the chief guest called for unity amongst the forces.

“Let the main achievement of these games be unity. It’s through such times we reflect onto ourselves, refresh and get rid of the day to day pressure of operations.

It will be my honor if these games turn out to be the uniting pillar of these four agencies for the wellness of officers and a secure Uganda”. Major General Kasigazi Tumusiime.

Eight disciplines shall be on the menu card. These include shooting, football, Netball, Athletics, Dats, Volleyball, Handball and taekwondo.

The 17th edition of the Inter-forces games will run from Saturday 18th November to 1st December. The inaugural edition was held in 2000.

The Games will pull together four military institutions in the country. Defending champions Police, Prisons, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda People Defence Forces (UPDF) shall compete in this edition.

This year’s edition shall bring together 1000 men and women in uniforms who are confirmed to participate.

At the launch, SCP Frank Baine represent Prisons, Jimmy Mugisha (UWA), Col. Deus Taremwa on behalf of UPDF stood in for his senior General Wilson Mbadi.
