The State Minister for Tourism wildlife, and antiquities has today morning, Thursday 30th November 2023 flagged of a group of over 60 local tourists to Pian Upe and Lokichar Game Reserves in Karamoja and Moroto for a four day trip.

The flag was held on a wet morning at Uganda Museum Parking lot in Kamwokya, Kampala.

“It’s great that we have now started to engage and partner with the Private Sector (breathtaking Uganda) but also with Miss Uganda, Miss tourism and all the other traveling enthusiasts coming onboard to explore and market Uganda.

It’s celebrations for us whenever we get opportunity to put the beauty of Uganda out there is a Golden moment for us as a ministry and as a country at large.

It’s good we are going to a region that has not been fully explored. It’s great time to shine some light to this region.

Miss Uganda being part of the tour is perfect step to market Uganda. Her international audience will directly know about Uganda from the right person with right information.

At the global platform, she will be the right marketing tool for Uganda as a destination”. Minister Bahinduka.

Organized by Breathtaking Uganda, the trip features the minister himself, Miss Uganda, Miss Tourism Queens and travel enthusiasts.

The four day tour shall run from the departure date of Thursday 30th November to return date on Sunday, 3rd December 2023.

Breathtaking Uganda, a promotional tour organization in conjunction with several travel enthusiasts, ministry of tourism and miss Uganda are set to explore Pian Upe and Lokichar Game Reserves and  Moroto Area In Karamoja Region.

Besides tourism during the trip, the Honourable Minister and the beauty queens will engage in charity activities with special reference to the community near Pian Upe headquarters, “The Karamoja Children’s Charity, a charity”.

The charity aims at supporting girls rescued from forced marriages who will be engaged with a drive that will mobilize support towards their school fees, scholastic materials, sanitary pads, panties, soap among other items.

At the end of the charity, Miss Uganda and Tourism beauty queens will give motivational talks to the affected girls on issues of mental health, menstrual hygiene and encourage these young girls to desist from teenage and early/childhood marriages.

The participants on the tour will immerse into the Karimojong traditions, lifestyle and way of life by eating authentic Karimojong based meals, drinks, dressing in their cultural dressings, listening to Karimojong folksongs and tales and participating in their dances, Rare, exciting sightings.

Pian Upe and Lokichar wildlife reserves offer some of the rarest opportunities to see game like cheetahs, ostriches, roan antelopes among many other animals.

The unique flora, fauna and breathtaking landscapes patent to these reserves and this region in Uganda form the beauty of the area.

Notably,  travelers will also visit the famous Napedet cave in Pian.

Before travelling to Pian Upe and Lokichar Game Reserves, there was a Kampala meet and greet On Tuesday 28th at 4LS Lounge in Bukoto.

Miss Uganda, Miss Tourism and several travel enthusiasts led by the Hon. Minister Martin Bahinduka met at 4LS lounge to get to know each other better as part of the tour activities.
